Our client a leading (award-winning) set of commercial barristers’ chambers based in the London is currently looking for an Events and Marketing Executive.

The Role

You will provide exceptional event design, planning and delivery, to showcase the expertise and collegiality of our members, and to make the very best of our newly refurbished hosting spaces.

Responsibilities

Run the show: Lead on the operational planning and delivery of events run by barrister’s chambers, including all aspects of preparation and on-the-day execution

Aim for the best: Champion the quality and excellence of all aspects of barrister’s chambers hosted events

Energise and engage: Grow our events programme: conceive new events, and support members and colleagues to turn ideas into event plans

Smooth sailing: Attend all events hosted at barrister’s chambers in the capacity as operational lead

Keep the team connected: Manage a calendar of internal and external events, in collaboration with key colleagues across the employee team

Agent of collaboration: Support the planning and operations of events run by external partners involving barrister’s chambers members as speakers or participants

Build a superteam: Serve as primary relationship holder with all events-related suppliers, and identify potential new suppliers as required.

Attend external events featuring barrister’s chambers members, to raise chambers’ profile and create content (eg text and photos) to promote members’ involvement

Manage contact lists and other CRM data relating to events and other marketing activities

Serve as the key bridge between the Marketing and Front of House teams, and provide support to the Front of House team as required, including cover for short-term absences

Work with the digital marketing executive to promote and cover barrister’s chambers events (both internal and external)

Coordinate evaluation of events (for example, via post-event surveys) and ensure findings are shared and used to improve future events

Provide general marketing support across all of the team’s activities, including cover for team absences

Assist with EDI, CSR and charity activities, and actively support a positive working culture in chambers.

Person Specification

Essential

Experience in a role requiring tactical and operational decision-making across the full life-cycle of events, both in-house and external/third-party

Experience in developing an events programme, to increase the number, quality and impact of hosted events

Knowledge and experience in using events and events-led content to support business development in a B2B or professional services environment

Experience and skills using common events-related software and tools

Keen eye for detail in all aspects of event planning and delivery, including related content and marketing assets

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence and earn the confidence of all senior stakeholders

Initiative and drive to work effectively both independently and in close collaboration with marketing and BD colleagues, other employees, members and external partners.

Desirable

A formal events management or project management qualification

Experience in a front-of-house or other client-facing role

Skills and experience creating digital content, such as photos, video and audio, particularly in an events context

Skills and experience in planning and delivering online events, including fully remote and hybrid event formats.
