Are you an experienced events professional looking for an exciting opportunity? We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Events Executive to join our team on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. This role offers a competitive salary of £34,500 and is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement of two days in the office.

About the Role:

As an Events Executive, you will play a pivotal role in delivering flagship events. You will act as the Project Manager, driving the expansion and increasing the income and reach of these events. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Event Management: Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring they meet financial targets and stay within budget. You will manage all aspects of the event cycle, from initial interest to post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for all participants.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from various fundraising streams, including corporate, community, and volunteer-led fundraising, to integrate a wide range of fundraising opportunities into events.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, participants, sponsors, volunteers, and internal stakeholders. Your ability to nurture these relationships will be key to the success of the events.
  • Project Planning: Manage detailed project plans, including contract negotiations, recruitment, sponsorship, supporter journeys, volunteer recruitment, transportation, equipment, and multichannel marketing campaigns.
  • Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest best practices in event marketing, supporter care, and fundraising to ensure our events are innovative and effective.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address operational challenges, ensuring compliance with legal, insurance, health, and safety regulations. You will also troubleshoot and handle any issues that arise during the event cycle, escalating when necessary.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a strong background in event management, particularly within a fundraising context. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: Proven experience in managing events as part of a fundraising team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and supporters.
  • Proactivity: A self-starter with a proactive approach, drive, and commitment to achieving goals.
  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational, project management, and planning skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office tools and strong administrative skills.
  • Empathy: A strong empathy with the cause and beneficiaries of the charity.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel around the UK and overseas as required. A full UK driving license is preferable.
