My client, a global membership organisation is currently recruiting for an Events Manager.

The purpose of the role is to devise and deliver a successful international events programme that provides value to their global membership and presents them as a professional, efficient, and expert trade association to its membership, the wider marine contracting industry, and to other key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

Working with the Head of Communications, Marketing, and Events to devise and deliver their international events programme of membership meetings, technical seminars, webinars, flagship conferences, and presence at exhibition and trade shows.

Managing all the practical details appropriate to the type of event, such as the location identification, selection of venue, negotiation with contractors and vendors, set-up, attendance, budgetary control, reporting, etc.

Providing on-site support to ensure the success of their events, either in-person or through the appointment of third-party agencies.

Ensuring that their industry events are well managed, planned, and are efficiently and successfully executed to schedule and on budget.

Working with the communications team to ensure that their events are communicated effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Developing creative ideas for the promotion of events and identifying sponsorship opportunities where appropriate.

Preparing debriefs, KPIs, and summary reports after each event.

Supporting their technical team to project manage the technical content to ensure successful win-win event outcomes.

Working with the Head of Communications, Marketing, and Events to manage their events calendar and liaise with their staff based around the world to attend strategically important industry events.

Person Specification:

Highly experienced in the events management industry with demonstrable track record of successfully organising and running international industry/business events, including seminars, webinars, conference exhibitions, trade shows, social events etc., to schedule and within budget.

Proven experience in successfully finding, organising, and working with conference centres, design companies, and production companies internationally.

Proven ability to manage a busy and varied work programme within tight delivery schedules.

Experienced in working with in-house departments and external agencies to deliver successful outcomes.

Experience of working in a membership organisation or the energy sector would be advantageous.

Outstanding event management, organisational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills with a high level of conscientious attention to detail.

Strong relationship-building and team working skills within a small office.

Strong interpersonal and networking skills.

Expert influencing abilities in working with stakeholders to develop and deliver successful events.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel nationally and internationally in support of the events.
