Conference Portfolio Director Flagship Event

Circa £60-80,000 + Profit Share 20-30k+


The Opportunity my client requires an intelligent, ambitious, and proactive portfolio director, who is looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a flagship product and portfolio to deliver both revenue growth and a market-leading position.


The Role

  • Content & Product Development
  • Embed yourself in your market creating deep relationships with critical stakeholders including advisory boards, speakers, sponsors and influencers.
  • Establish commercially viable marketing solutions including reports, webinars and online events for additional revenue streams.
  • Drive commercial research to ensure we understand the needs of our partners and to facilitate recurring revenue, portfolio spend and increasing annual average price points.


Strategic Accountability

  • Champion the portfolio to drive positive PR and reputation within the internal team and be a face in the industry.
  • Work as part of the portfolio leadership team to shape the short-, medium- and long-term strategy for the portfolio and individual events.
  • Validate new events, generate new ideas and lead by example.
  • Understand market dynamics and trends to create client and event growth plans.


Team Management

  • Foster a culture of deep customer, market and portfolio knowledge and a client centric approach
  • Train, coach and retain future direct reports demonstrating accountability and perpetuating growth from their own work.
  • Responsible for hiring and training new producers and analysts for the portfolio.
  • Motivate, encourage and support others whilst maintaining a disciplined working environment ensuring production cycles and KPIs are consistently met.
  • Lead by example in generating topics and consistently talking to customers to drive new ideas and innovation.


Expertise Required

  • A curiosity and market-first approach passionate about topics and a determination and drive to identify growth opportunities based on market knowledge.
  • Proven ability to scaling large international B2B events (£1.8m+)
  • You have demonstrable success in building and developing major events.
  • You have great leadership skills and enjoy managing teams .
  • You thrive on a challenge and solving problems.
  • You enjoy driving change and innovation.
  • Proven ability to implement event project management methodologies.
  • Professional copywriting/marketing/PR skills are a must.
  • Event critical path building and delivery of production guidelines, timelines and deadlines.
