                                            Senior Exhibition Sales Manager

Leading media events business seeks a highly talented Senior Exhibition Sales Manager to join their rapidly growing team.  Our client is a winner of numerous AEO awards and as they continue to grow the need has arisen to recruit an event leader.

You will be tasked with driving strategic growth and direction whilst delivering on all commercial elements and liasing with the event team across all departments in the day to day running of the event.  

Role Responsibilities:

  • Full event management responsibility, strategy creation and execution, P&L delivery, budget, and floorplan management.
  • Commercial management – key accounts, partners, stakeholders, trade associations as well as the ability to get involved in the development of the commercial plan and attend client meetings, with a key focus on sponsorship revenue.
  • Day to day management of the event team, both direct reports and indirect management of centralised stakeholders (matrix management).
  • Build, develop and grow key partnerships, both commercial and non-commercial which drive revenue and community engagement.
  • Planning, coordinating, implementing & monitoring all marketing communication activities to ensure deadlines are met, within budget and in-line with the event marketing goals.
  • Developing a strategy for a comprehensive commercial campaign to achieve revenue and commercial growth goals. Specification and oversight of digital strategy for the event.
  • Generate stand and sponsorship revenue over the phone and face to face. 

Profile of Candidate Required:

  • Previous experience as an Event Manager / Portfolio Manager or Senior Sales Manager (strategy, P&L, campaign execution, stakeholder management).
  • Leadership experience and the ability to take a team to a higher level.
  • Strong sales skills: ability to demonstrate objection handling, experience in sourcing new leads and writing effective partnership and sponsorship proposals.
  • An innovator – looking at the future, industry trends and market needs to keep the event number 1 in the industry.
  • Excellent creative skills, ability to develop creative and imaginative event concepts. Exceptional time and project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
