Based in London and reporting to the Head of Legal, My client is looking for a Deputy Compliance Officer to join their UK/London team.

The Deputy Company Secretary will assist the Head of Legal and lead the Secretariat function to ensure good corporate governance standards are met. You will ensure the Group's UK subsidiaries are compliant with the Companies Act 2006 and all other relevant statutory requirements. You will advise the Head of Legal on changes in legislation affecting corporate governance.

The Deputy Company Secretary will assist the Head of Legal and lead the Secretariat function to ensure good corporate governance standards are met. What you will do*Deliver timely and best practice company secretarial support for Boards and Committees including, you will work with a variety of stakeholders. *Meeting planning, agenda setting, maintenance of the forward planner*Attendance at Board, Committees and ad hoc meetings*Producing high quality minutes within expected timescales;*Tracking to completion actions arising from meetings*Provide advice on and facilitate compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory company secretariat and governance requirements*Ensure policies, standards and governance documentation (including Terms of References) are appropriate, effectively communicated, continuously reviewed and updated to reflect internal/external changes*Managing a junior team member. *Manage individual company secretarial projects, as required*Build stakeholder relationshipsThe ideal Deputy Company Secretary will possess:*Chartered Secretary (ACG or FCG) or lawyer with experience gained in a regulated environment (FCA, Lloyds or PRA) at a senior level (ideally Board level)*Experience of acting as Secretary for a portfolio of companies within a Company Secretariat team and ensuring applicable governance standards are met*Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles, including driving high quality governance standards, via credible and practical experience*Minute taking capability, of a consistent high-quality standard and conducive to serving a regulated entityIf you are a Company Secretary looking for your next role or s Deputy Company Secretary looking for a new opportunity please get in touch for a confidential chat.
