They are looking for an experienced Finance Analyst to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. They are looking for an experienced Finance Analyst to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The role requires a diligent Finance Analyst with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Our clients Finance team has experienced substantial changes in prior years, both in terms of systems and staff, leading to improved reporting capabilities and more fulfilling career opportunities. A fantastic opportunity has opened up in the Management Accounts Team, where the successful candidate will concentrate on delivering value-added reporting to help stakeholders make more informed and effective decisions.

Description

  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager, Head of Financial Control, and Management Accounts Team in achieving the monthly financial outcomes.
  • Assume complete accountability for designated sections of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, establishing yourself as the point of expertise for your colleagues.
  • Engage in the monthly cost review meetings, providing clear explanations for trends and significant variations compared to relevant benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with support and corporate functions, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their performance metrics.
  • Contribute to all phases of the annual budgeting process and subsequent forecast updates.
  • Support the auditors during the mid-year and year-end audits.
  • Help in the preparation and presentation of financial statements.
  • Work with the Finance System and Change Team on ongoing projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Profile

A successful Finance Analyst should have:

  • Solid academic foundation, with strong performance at A-levels.
  • Holds a degree.
  • Intending to start or currently pursuing qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience in small or large financial or management accounting teams is beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficient in Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and IF statements.
  • Familiarity with finance software such as TM1, Pegasus Opera GL, general ledger systems, and reporting tools like Power BI.
