Position Details

  • Salary Range: £33,000-37,000 per annum

  • Full-Time

  • Hybrid: 2-3 days a week in the office

  • Reports to: Director, Data Analytics

  • Location: London, United Kingdom; Three minutes walk from London Waterloo station and a 15-20 minute walk from central London attractions such as Westminster, the South Bank, and the West End theatre district

Position SummaryThe Forecasting Analyst will be responsible for the forecast accuracy of models supporting a portfolio of clients and, jointly with members of the Forecasting Operations Team, for the overall satisfaction of those clients. The Analyst will participate in various activities, including processing and managing data, building new and maintaining existing models, becoming an energy demand market expert on relevant aspects of the energy industry, and developing strong working relationships with clients inside that portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Forecast power and gas demand using Yes Energy’s software ecosystem.

  • Collect and clean data from internal and external sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Manipulate and analyze large datasets in the process of building models.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of market trends, energy consumption patterns, and competitor activities.

  • Develop and maintain data processing tools (data processing scripts, databases, and forecast deliveries), dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key insights to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to identify process improvement and innovation opportunities and ensure the delivery of our forecasts and services.

  • Assist in developing predictive models and forecasting tools to support business planning and decision-making.

  • Interact with customers by phone, email, and in person in our office or directly at their place of business.

  • Present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders clearly and concisely.

  • Research and develop methodologies around emerging energy trends and new markets, potentially leading to new product development.

  • Participate in sales conferences and client support meetings in Europe and the Middle East.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc degree. A solid academic background in a quantitative discipline, including modules in statistical theory and/or econometrics. Postgraduate knowledge of statistical theory and/or econometrics is preferred.

  • Excellent/Fluent English - written and spoken.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.

  • Willing to learn and develop new skills and to progress within the company.

  • Good PC skills in a Microsoft Windows operating environment.

  • Ability to work and cooperate as part of a team in a multicultural environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail.

  • Strong decision-making ability under pressure and time constraints.
