We are looking for a Qualified FP&A Analyst to join our client on a 6 month ongoing contract basis.

This will be supporting the Head of FP&A in delivering cost control and insightful performance analysis to senior cross-functional management in a fast-moving rail business environment.

Job Description and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support the Head of FP&A in delivering the budget and rolling forecasts coordinating key analytical insights enabling management to understand the financial implications of all core assumptions with particular emphasis on the operation of cash flow and balance sheet.
  • Run the short-term cash flow forecasting process, involving building close relationships with project controllers, treasury and Financial Control. Then present findings to the Head of FP&A and Director of Finance Accounting and Statutory
  • Load data into corporate reporting systems in a timely and accurate manner
  • Undertake the review of monthly cash and balance sheet performance, providing timely insight to senior management and managing shareholder requirements supported by key recommendations and corrective actions. This will include assessing the periodic impact upon full year results.
  • Support project controllers with cash management and modelling
  • Maintain close relationships with the financial control and line of business finance teams to ensure that analytical output reflects operational performance.
  • Evolve current reporting templates
  • Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required.

Essential qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (preferably ACA, CIMA)
  • Able to owning a short term cashflow forecasting process
  • Experience owning cost centres in a matrix environment from a finance perspective
  • Solid grasp of both direct and indirect cash flow concepts and analysis
  • Appreciation of the interaction between balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow
  • Advanced Excel, able to generate insight by using data smarter.
  • Experience with large ERP Systems (SAP/BW, BPC and OneStream ideally)
  • Experience in owning the monthly close process
  • Experience using PowerBI

This role will be a hybrid working position, with the main office being located in Central London. All applicants must be legible to work in the UK, without sponsorship and flexible on occasional national/international travel.
