Our client, a private investment firm working on Pan-European Hotel Acquisitions are looking for an Investment Analyst to join their growing team.

Job Overview:

As an Analyst with our client, you will be responsible for analysing potential real estate investment opportunities and supporting the investment decision-making process. You will work as part of the hotel's investment team and contribute to the identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities across different geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Market Research: Conduct research and analysis to identify potential hotel investment opportunities across different geographies. This includes analyzing market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and economic indicators to assess the attractiveness of different markets.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and underwriting of hotel investments. This includes building cash flow models, conducting sensitivity analysis, and assessing the risk-return profile of different investments. Evaluate financing options and negotiate financing terms.
  • Due Diligence:Support the due diligence process for potential hotel investments. This includes reviewing legal documents, financial statements, and property-specific information to identify potential risks and opportunities. Collaborate closely with the legal, tax, and accounting teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the investment.
  • Investment Memos and Presentations: Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee. Communicate the investment thesis, key risks, and financial projections in a clear and concise manner.
  • Acquisition and Financing: Assist in negotiating acquisition and financing terms. Work closely with the investment team, legal, tax, and capital markets teams to ensure terms are favorable and aligned with the investment thesis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (1st or 2:1), ideally in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • One to two years of experience working in a real estate team within an investment bank or private equity firm. Hotel experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Native-level written and spoken English.
  • High-level of modelling experience, including building models from scratch on a regular basis.
  • Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint, with a mastery of Excel and the ability to create in-depth financial analysis via models (this will be tested in the recruitment process).
  • Superior analytical, quantitative, and technical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly organized.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to present complex information to diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Experience in managing, updating, and analyzing large quantities of data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including variable hours, with a requirement to travel on occasion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels internally and externally.
  • A second European language is preferable.
