Cedar is currently partnered with a PE-backed Fintech business to secure an Interim Senior FP&A Analyst, offered on a hybrid basis with offices in Central London. The role is a 6-month initial contract, paying a day rate between £450 - £550 per day.

The Role

As Interim Senior FP&A Analyst, you will:

  • Evaluate trends in key performance indicators (KPIs), emphasising financial metrics such as trading volume, profit margins, and operating expenses.
  • Build Power BI dashboards from scratch, utilising existing defined data points.
  • Track KPIs to detect and explain unexpected variances, delivering actionable insights for improvement.
  • Design, enhance, and sustain cost budgeting processes, contributing to financial forecasts and operational projections.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly management reports across diverse business segments and cost centres.
  • Deploy and oversee business intelligence tools and dashboards for real-time analytics using platforms like Excel, Power BI, Python, or SQL.
  • Create and refine assumptions for financial models to support strategic initiatives, including churn analysis, trading insights, and product evaluation, analysing trends to establish statistically significant targets for KPIs.
  • Partner with internal finance stakeholders, management, and departments to provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

  • An accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and/or chartered financial analyst qualifications (CFA).
  • Proficient in utilising financial software and BI tools effectively, including building dashboards from scratch.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning and analysis, with a solid foundation in accounting, financial modelling, and budgeting.
  • Extensive experience in variance analysis, income statement evaluation, and capital budgeting processes.
  • Skilled at converting complex financial data into concise, actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Prior experience in an interim / contract role would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • The rate of £450-550 per day represents a fair value, or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
