The role…
Reporting into the UK&I Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll be partnering with operational & commercial teams to provide key commercial insight on store performance, possessing real commercial acumen to translate information and provide recommendations to various non-financial stakeholders.
- Compile reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including weekly and monthly performance updates and quarterly platform-specific concession summaries.
- Conduct detailed analysis of commercial performance, focusing on sales, margins, stock levels, mix effects, and KPI trends.
- Support monthly financial closings, including group submissions (e.g., Newport), stock provisioning reports, and P&L variance analysis against forecasts.
- Develop comprehensive platform-specific P&L forecasts for corporate budgeting, covering sales, margins, and store costs.
- Create detailed budget packs to support financial planning processes.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Operations teams to deliver decision support for initiatives such as pricing and promotion strategies, including analysis, modelling, and actionable recommendations to drive growth.
- Manage monthly rent calculations and prepare data for audited rent certificates.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed to address business questions.
- Assist with evaluating and supporting new business development opportunities.
About you…
- University degree, pursuing relevant finance qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
- 1-2 years experience within FP&A/Commercial Finance.
- Experience within Retail is highly desirable.
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
- Possess strong commercial understanding to understand and translate reports.
- Previous exposure to SAP would be beneficial but not necessary.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Technical with an ability to manipulate large volume sets.
