Risk and Control Analyst

Reed Banking are pleased to be working with an international bank in their campaign to hire a junior risk professional to join a growing Risk Management team as a Risk and Control Analyst! This role is integral to the implementation and monitoring of the risk management framework, ensuring policies are effectively applied across all business lines. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of risk management functions.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of various risk management areas, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk.
  • Support the delivery of the Risk Management Framework, including limit monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Assist in running liquidity risk and stress testing reports, providing analysis to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collect and assist in the analysis of monthly Operational Risk KRIs from department heads and conduct quarterly operational risk self-assessments.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of risk regulatory reports.
  • Monitor and report on operational incidents impacting the branch.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and perform basic VBA coding.
  • Assist with governance tasks, including policy and procedure reviews and updates.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Risk.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 classification.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a regulated business, with a focus on analytics and control functions.
  • Basic understanding of financial risk and banking products.
  • Proficiency in Excel; programming skills are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to articulate requirements and solutions.
  • Self-starter with excellent initiative, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English both written and spoken.
