An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst to join a leading Housing Association on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with one day a week in the office.

Reporting directly to the Group Accountant, you will play a key role in providing financial services and supporting group accounts. Your responsibilities will include financial analysis, reconciliations, management and statutory reporting, and assisting with group-wide tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and reconcile management and statutory accounts
  • Provide relevant financial insights to enable informed decision-making
  • Maintain accurate financial records, systems, and charts of accounts, and support finance system transition projects.
  • Assist with Group month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounts preparation and audits
  • Support the production of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience preparing or assisting with statutory and management accounts, ideally as a Senior Finance Analyst
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS102, and Housing SORP is highly desirable
  • Background in the property or housing sector, or experience in external audit, is a plus
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven communication and business partnering skills, and a collaborative team player
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • AAT qualified, or part-qualified and actively pursuing a full accounting qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (including intermediate Excel) and financial software.
