Are you a risk professional with a passion for understanding risk and control? Are you experienced in delivering SOX assurance testing within the financial services industry? Our client, a leading organisation in the industry, is seeking a Manager within their Control office to strengthen their wider financial control environment.

In this role, you will play a key role in the delivery of our client's SOX assurance testing programme. You will use your judgement to make assessments on allocated control testing assignments across various business areas, sharing insights with their GFR team and wider Finance Risk Business Partners. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to challenge existing approaches and build on the quality of their assurance processes. Your ability to identify, recommend, and deliver on areas for improvement, including through the use of technology, will be crucial.

What You'll Do:

  • Play a key role in the delivery of our client's SOX assurance testing programme
  • Use judgement to make assessments on allocated control testing assignments across a range of business areas
  • Share insights with the GFR team and wider Finance Risk Business Partners
  • Challenge existing approaches and build on the quality of their assurance processes
  • Identify, recommend, and deliver on areas for improvement, including through the use of technology

What You'll Need:

  • A passion for understanding risk and control, and practical experience in the delivery of SOX assurance testing, ideally in relation to financial services
  • Experience in delivering insight, challenge, and advice while building collaborative relationships across the organisation
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work with people at all levels to meet shared objectives
  • Ability to understand and assimilate different sources of data and complex information to effectively problem solve and make control assessments
  • Expertise in understanding Financial Reporting Risk with the skillset to challenge risk and control owners on the end-to-end management of risk within a Finance landscape

What Would Be Useful:

  • Experience in using technology-enabled solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of controls testing or other day-to-day activities
  • Understanding control environments related to IT business applications and infrastructure in financial services
