What you'll do:As a Trainee Catastrophe Risk Analyst, you will be immersed in a role that offers both challenge and excitement. You will be tasked with developing your skills in catastrophe modelling support, aiding in pricing and risk selection. Your ability to collaborate effectively within the CRM team will be crucial, as you assist in various tasks including quarterly accumulations. You will also liaise with underwriting teams on catastrophe risk management issues, developing key stakeholder relationships along the way. A keen understanding of data workflows between teams will be essential for success in this role.

  • Develop catastrophe modelling support skills for pricing and risk selection purposes.
  • Build skills to provide catastrophe modelling support for portfolio management purposes.
  • Collaborate proactively within different areas of the CRM team to provide assistance where required.
  • Assist in quarterly accumulations.
  • Liaise with direct and facultative underwriting teams on catastrophe risk management issues and queries.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders as required.
  • Improve knowledge of Underwriting team practices and how data is used/reported.
  • Identify appropriate team members who can help achieve your goals.
  • Understand data workflows between teams and how it is used.

What you bring:The ideal candidate for the Trainee Catastrophe Risk Analyst position brings a strong academic background, preferably in maths or IT/Computing. Experience or knowledge in insurance would be beneficial. Proficiency in MS Excel is required, along with desirable data manipulation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as numeracy skills and accuracy. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, capable of acting on their own initiative.

  • A level qualification (preferred subjects -maths, IT /Computing, with a minimum grade A)
  • Experience/knowledge of Insurance desired.
