Development Finance Underwriter

We are pleased to be working with a property development finance company based in North London, that provides loans to SME developers and builders to build residential units.

We are looking for a diligent, details orientated candidate who we could train to underwrite/evaluate new loans

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully assessing and underwriting initial loan applications in line with company policy.
  • Building successful working relationships with brokers, applicants, surveyors, solicitors and clients.
  • Preparing and Instructing solicitors and surveyors on all new loans that have signed up.
  • Ensuring all new clients have complied with KYC and AML requirements.
  • Advising clients and brokers through the legal process and action legal correspondence.
  • Liaising with the panel of solicitors and surveyors to ensure swift completion of all loans in due diligence.
  • Reviewing solicitors’ reports on title.
  • In depth analysis of surveyors’ development valuation reports as a crucial part of the loan underwriting process and creating internal reports for approval by the board.
  • Assessing surveyors’ tranche inspection reports to ensure that the relevant build tranches have been completed satisfactorily in order that payment can be released.
