Senior Bridging Underwriter/Head of Credit - Salary- 75Kpa+London based (one day from home)We are thrilled to be working with an exciting bridging and development lender, based in London, who are ready to continue their growth plans this year.We need someone analytical, who is capable of producing Credit Committee Packs, running through MI on the loan application pipeline to assess things like conversion rates, bottle necks in the process, allocation of valuers, funders and splits of 1st and 2nd charge lending.

Responsibilities include:

  • To maintain, review and enhance the organisation’s Lending Policy
  • To review new loans prior to completion to ensure all underwriting and legal matters have been addressed by the underwriter, providing feedback as appropriate
  • To maintain the organisation’s solicitor and surveyor panels.
  • To coordinate transactional Credit Committee meetings for the approval of new loans, further advances and extensions, and document the outcomes of those meetings.
  • To record and maintain key data which can be used to analyse new lending and identify credit risks and trends.
  • To organise, chair and minute monthly Credit Committee meetings, ensuring that resulting actions are completed promptly.
  • To interpret housing market and economic factors to ensure external risk factors are understood relative to each case underwritten.
  • To demonstrate expert knowledge of the valuation and legal processes required to complete a loan transaction
  • To serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory enquiries.
  • To keep abreast of industry, legal and regulatory developments and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • To provide training and education to employees on compliance and AML requirements.
  • To maintain policies and processes in respect of Data Subject Access Requests and Data

The successful candidate needs to be experienced (4-5 years minimum with exposure to a UK bridging/ development lender environment) who understands the commercial angle of lending but also is a voice to challenge the status quo and the decisioning which could fall the wrong side of risk.A great role, for someone who is longing to make a difference and be a treasured part of a succesful team.
