We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a highly respected firm of chartered accountants with over 80 years of excellence in the industry. The firm offers a comprehensive range of services, including family wealth management, audit, corporate finance, and accounts.

They are seeking an experienced Accounts Client Manager to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong expertise in financial reporting, VAT compliance, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Act as the primary contact for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business needs.
  • Deliver tailored accounting solutions and proactive financial guidance.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of accounting services in line with client expectations.

Management Accounting:

  • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly management accounts.
  • Provide clients with insights into financial reports, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Analyse financial variances and suggest corrective actions.

VAT Returns & Compliance:

  • Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT legislation and advise clients on VAT planning strategies.
  • Stay up to date with VAT regulations and communicate relevant updates to clients.

Team Collaboration & Supervision:

  • Work closely with senior management on client-related strategic issues.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants, ensuring high-quality work.
  • Support business development initiatives within the firm.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in statutory and management accounting, VAT returns, and client-facing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
