Atomic is delighted to be partnering with an independent Firm, based in London (West End), looking to recruit an Accounts Manager or Assistant Manager to join their team. The Firm specialises in the Media & Entertainment space, working with a wide range of artists, actors and record labels. The expertise in the industry, gives them the ability to provide a personal service tailored to the client's needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Joint responsibility for supervising and developing a team of trainees and bookkeepers.
  • Client-facing, managing a portfolio of 20+ clients (music artists, artist management companies, charities etc.) and their business entities.
  • Overseeing day-to-day business management and accountancy for client portfolio, including all aspects of financial and personal affairs, to include tour scheduling, and international withholding tax mitigation liaising with US, Australian, European and other overseas business management and tax advisory firms.
  • Overseeing all bookkeeping for clients; ensuring that accounts are prepared accurately to trial balance.
  • Reviewing quarterly VAT returns.
  • Review of monthly and year end payroll including form P11D.
  • Overseas VAT mitigation and working to recover foreign VAT.
  • Review royalty accounting, producer statements and prepare royalty analyses,
  • Preparation of financial information, including detailed variance analysis, and the preparation of net asset statements including for high-net-worth individuals. Good personal and corporate tax knowledge essential to the role.
  • US quarterly tax and management account reporting on a personal and corporate level, and liaison with overseas conglomerates.
  • Working closely with the Accounts & Tax Department, providing them with the necessary information to prepare year end accounts & tax returns.
  • Business administration matters such as managing bank accounts, processing payments runs on behalf of clients.
  • Overseeing touring activities for all clients, including tour reporting, budgeting and variance analysis in various currencies.
  • Billing for portfolio, to include review of client WIP, dealing with client queries and chasing debtors.
  • Participating in staff appraisals and provide feedback as required.
  • Representing the firm at music industry events.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Must have at least 5 years' experience a UK accountancy practice firm.
  • Experience of an accounting system such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or, ideally, Twinfield
  • Previous experience with media clients would be preferable.
