We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join a prestigious non-profit organisation. This role is integral to the financial health of the organisation, involving business partnering with budget holders, and the delivery of management accounts. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting various departments and enhancing financial processes and reporting.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Financial Planning: Advise senior budget holders on financial planning, including the delivery of management accounts and other financial reports as per the reporting timetable.
  • Annual Budgets and Forecasts: Coordinate with budget holders to deliver annual budgets and develop reports for presentation to the Senior Management Team (SMT). Deliver forecasts as required.
  • Monthly Management Accounts: Ensure timely delivery of management accounts and conduct monthly meetings with budget holders to discuss and plan around significant variances.
  • Support and Development: Assist in developing and delivering corporate KPI reporting and risk registers. Respond to ad hoc report and inquiry requests relating to financial reporting. Manage and support Finance Assistants, ensuring team objectives and priorities are met.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a membership organisation or a non-profit
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Good understanding of the Charities SORP (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
