I'm working closely with a mid-tier firm based in central London that are looking to grow their Business Services team by hiring a new Assistant Manager. The team is a growing one, with multiple recent hires joining the firm and the growth is set to continue into the new year.
The role is a hybrid one, where you will spend 2-3 days a week in the office and the rest from home.
Role Overview:
What you will be doing as an Assistant Manager
- Prepare unaudited financial statements from clients' management information.
- Advise clients on best practices within their accounting systems and financial reporting.
- Review the work of junior staff and ensure it is ready for client presentation.
- Support specialist financial reporting assignments as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
- Manage a portfolio of client assignments, including management and year-end accounts preparation.
- Coordinate with other departments within the firm to deliver holistic financial solutions.
What you'll need to succeed
- ACA or ACCA qualified with some post-qualification experience.
- Solid understanding of UK GAAP and the compilation of financial statements.
- Experience with basic corporation tax computations and a working knowledge of VAT and payroll tax issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills, with a passion for supporting and developing junior staff.
- No audit exposure required for this role.
