An excellent new opportunity has arisen at an NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in NHS contracts to join the department and lead a team.
The Associate Director of Contracts Management will be responsible for providing leadership to and management of the Contracts Management function and team. The post holder will also be responsible for liaising with senior and executive level colleagues, commissioners and an outsourced procurement function in supporting the delivery of the cost improvement plan to assist the Trust in meeting its financial objectives. Key to the role will be to ensure that all agreements entered into with commissioners are incorporated into effective and appropriate contracts and will ensure that these contracts are effectively managed so that they contribute significantly to progressing Trust strategy and achievement of strategic and service objectives. It will also include ensuring that contracts are sufficiently clear to enable the Trust to optimise the income due under the contracts and to work with Finance and Service colleagues to ensure this income is delivered.
You should be a highly experienced Contracts Manager with a deep understanding of the NHS contracts and commissioning landscape, including exposure to commercial negotiation of significant value and/or risk. Knowledge of NHS performance management issues and of NHS activity tariff systems will be important, as you will need to advise colleagues and guide the team. Owing to the broad range of contacts you will be liaising with, first rate communication skills will be essential in order to rapidly build effective working relationships.
This is a fantastic chance to join a dynamic and forward-thinking senior team, drive improvements in ways of working, and shape the future of the Contracts Management function.
