A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to join a dynamic team within a leading professional services firm in London. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and directors, delivering client-focused, commercially aware services in a professional and efficient manner. This role involves mentoring, training, and managing junior staff to support their development and progression, with options for involvement in formal training programs.
Role Overview:
What you will be doing as an Audit & Accounts Manager
- Act as the main contact for the internal team, clients, HMRC, and other professional advisors.
- Oversee all aspects of audit and accounts assignment management
- Job planning, budgeting, and time management.
- Delegating tasks to the team and supervising their progress.
- Detailed review of files, providing feedback, and managing projects.
- Reviewing corporation tax computations and coordinating with Tax Specialists.
- Preparing files for partner review, including calculating corporation tax and submitting to HMRC and Companies House.
- Promote the firm's interests to employees, clients, prospective clients, and other stakeholders.
- Motivate, mentor, and provide feedback to junior staff, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Assist with staff management, including supervising trainees and helping with in-house training.
- Participate in practice development by attending client events, identifying business development opportunities, and assisting with client pitches.
- Provide innovative ideas to improve existing systems related to client or staff matters.
- Assist with billing and debt collection procedures in coordination with partners.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or international equivalent.
- Proven experience managing both people and a portfolio, with at least 40% audit work.
- Strong understanding of corporate tax, UK auditing, and accounting standards.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively.
- Experience auditing Tech or FinTech businesses is highly advantageous.
- Expertise in conducting substantive and controls-based audits, group reporting, and managing cross-border groups.
- Familiarity with UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS.
- Commitment to client care and continuous professional development.
- Ability to manage deadlines, provide constructive feedback, and ensure attention to detail.
