An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced accountant to join a growing accounts and audit team as an Audit and Accounts Manager. This role is integral to the management team and offers direct reporting to the partners. The successful candidate will be part of a firm that is passionate about professional development, utilising new technology, and fostering a friendly and supportive working environment.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Plan and manage audit and accounts assignments effectively within agreed timescales.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions, staff planning, and client service as part of the management team.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, including money laundering checks.
  • Deliver assurance services in line with the company’s client service framework.
  • Play an active role in winning new clients through networking, business development, and initial meetings.
  • Manage key client relationships and expectations, monitor budgets, and agree fees for each engagement.
  • Lead audit teams on various assignments, providing motivation, development, and coaching.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and assist in producing proposals for new work.
  • Develop a network of contacts and cross-sell services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong track record in audit and accounts preparation and current management of a client base.
  • Proficient with accounts packages such as IRIS, SAGE, EXCEL, and Outlook.
  • Technical and industry sector expertise with a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to mentor and support the team, prioritise tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Business-focused, highly organised, and a team player.
