Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Business Manager for our client a local government organisation in Haringey.
The successful candidate will lead overall business management and administration of the Placemaking & Community Development, providing essential support and promoting best practices across various functions.
Be responsible for ensuring smooth operations and high-quality support for the Head of Inclusive Economy and various service delivery teams, including Business Engagement, Local Economy, Haringey Learns, and Haringey Works; and for the Head of Placemaking on exciting placemaking initiatives in Tottenham and Wood Green.
This role is initially a 3 month contract with the possibility to extend. This role is hybrid working with 1 day per week minimum in the office.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Responsible for the overall business management and administration of the placements & communities department, applying rigorous financial management and business planning approach to project management to ensure that delivery is on time and within budget.
- Support the department in managing revenue and capital budgets and ensure the integrity of financial monitoring, grant funding claims and day-to-day finance transactions, including through the use of SAP.
- Supporting high-quality governance and decision-making on Placemaking and Inclusive Economy projects and programmes, including servicing meetings of Boards, steering groups and working groups as required, minuting meetings and ensuring agreed actions are monitored.
- Working with project leads to make effective use of project management tools such as planning, risk assessment and reporting, budget and resource management, procurement, communication, issues logging and progress reporting.
- Working alongside the management team to regularly update highlight reporting and other corporate reporting, including the Corporate Delivery Plan, and regular reporting against service delivery plans.
- Support key business activities across the function including business planning (including budget planning), performance and risk reporting.
Personal Requirements:
- Relevant degree or qualification.
- Advanced knowledge of mainstream IT software package including MS Office suite software.
- Knowledge of date protection (GDPR) and safeguarding requirements.
- Knowledge and experience of reporting on projects.
- Experience using SAP or similar financial management tool (desirable).
Working Hours: 37hrs / 9:00am - 17:30pm / Monday to Friday
Pay: £409.54 per day
