CFO - Telecoms - Private Equity

South East England - Predominantly onsite work

£150,000-£180,000 + Bonus + Equity

Stanton House have been retained by one of the most active mid-market funds in the UK to source a CFO for their telecoms portfolio company. (sub-£15mil rev, South East)

The business are looking to exit in the next year, and need a proven CFO to lead them through this transaction.

I am looking to network with individuals who have worked in a PE backed telecomms (or similar) business and have led a successful exit end-end as a CFO. You will be hands on in nature with the ability to completely transform a function.

Key Responsibilities

*Develop and execute financial strategies to support business growth, improve valuation, and drive EBITDA targets for a successful exit.

*Lead transaction activities, including due diligence, financial modelling, and stakeholder management. Prepare the business for a potential exit, ensuring all financial processes and reporting align with valuation objectives.

*Enhance financial operations, build a scalable finance function, and invest in upskilling the finance team to meet growing business demands.

*Manage and develop a finance team of six, including a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Accounts Manager, and transactional staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle the needs of a high-growth, private equity-backed company.

*Work closely with the CEO and the board to ensure alignment on strategic priorities. Engage effectively with private equity partners, auditors, and other stakeholders.

*Collaborate with the leadership team on market expansion opportunities

*Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance, ensuring robust financial controls and alignment with industry standards and PE expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

*Significant experience as a CFO or in a senior finance role within a private equity-backed company, preferably within telecoms, technology, or a contract based related sector.

*Demonstrable experience with M&A, transactions, and end-to-end exit process.

*Strong commercial acumen and hands-on experience with financial planning, analysis, and cash management in high-growth environments.

*Ability to drive change and scale the finance function in a fast-paced, complex business.

*Strong leadership skills with experience managing a lean team; ability to develop talent and enhance financial expertise.

*Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work closely with CEOs, board members, and private equity partners.
