Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: London (with flexibility to work a day a week away)

Salary: £90,000 - £130,000 + LTIP (Long-Term Incentive Plan)

Reporting to: Group CEO / Owner

About the Company

A rapidly expanding, ambitious, and acquisitive service-based business, our client is pursuing a bold growth strategy. Spearheaded by an experienced entrepreneur, the company plans to expand from a few entities to over 25 businesses within the next 3-5 years, through approximately six acquisitions.

The CFO will be pivotal in driving this growth, structuring deals, and ensuring financial discipline across the company. This is a unique opportunity to partner with a seasoned entrepreneur known for scaling businesses, offering the CFO a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Acquisitional Growth & Strategic Finance:

  • Collaborate with the CEO to shape and execute the company's acquisitional growth strategy.
  • Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, ensuring strategic alignment and risk mitigation.
  • Structure acquisition deals, managing debt financing and working with multiple funding partners.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, including 5-year P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow forecasts at both entity and group levels.
  • Oversee post-acquisition integration, optimizing financial performance and operational synergies.

Financial Leadership & Governance:

  • Manage financial planning, forecasting, and reporting across the group.
  • Establish and enforce robust financial controls to ensure scalability during growth.
  • Lead and mentor a growing finance team, driving a high-performance culture.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and legal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory financial regulations and governance.

Commercial & Operational Finance:

  • Provide data-driven insights to support strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • Implement group-wide reporting structures for real-time monitoring of business performance.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure finance is a key strategic function.

Key Requirements:

  • A seasoned finance leader with extensive experience in acquisitions and M&A.
  • Strong strategic mindset with hands-on capability in financial operations.
  • Proven expertise in financial modelling, due diligence, and deal structuring.
  • Experience working with debt partners, lenders, and external investors.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to influence and challenge at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity business, preferably in the service sector.
