Channel Finance Team Leader - Technology Finance

South East England

James George Recruitment has partnered with a prestigious Tier 1 Finance House as they look to add a Channel Finance Team Leader to their Technology Finance division.

You will only need to manage a team of 2-3 sales people but you will need good management skills, coupled with strong sales ability. The ideal scenario is for someone to have Channel experience in Vendor, so someone who has experience working for a manufacturer of IT/Software or someone who has worked for the financing part for reseller/distributor. An attractive basic salary and remuneration package is attached to the role.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Lead a team of Account Mangers to develop and maintain existing programmes with Vendors, IT Resellers and Partners.

- Provide guidance, direction, training and leadership to the Channel Finance team

- Work collaboratively with the other functions such as Credit and Risk, New Business and Asset Management to create successful, profitable and sustainable programmes,

- Proactively make telephone calls to Partners to ensure a consistent, high level of service

- Manage Partner’s pipelines, conducting regular reviews on the performance of the programmes (approval rates, conversion rates, delinquencies, ROE performance)

- Where applicable, manage Vendor pipelines through CRM tools

- Ensure proposals are promptly acted upon once a credit decision has been returned

- On specific programmes prepare and submit residual value applications for approval to the Asset Manager or relevant committee

- Maintain excellent relationships with Partners to generate required sales volume and margin, and provide support in terms of system training, paperwork, ad-hoc queries

- Delivery of agreed business targets and personal objectives including volume, margins, documentation frees and other earnings

- Understand key vendor program requirements in the delivery of any bespoke products or services required

- Prepare and monitor monthly activity reports for the Partner including deals proposed, approved, converted, volumes, profiling, working collaboratively with internal support teams

- Where appropriate, manage pipeline and rate charts for channel partners on a monthly basis

- Verbally demonstrate a sound understanding of equipment finance and knowledge of the industry involved. - Ability to empathise with the Partner and Customer and influence their decisions while establishing them as a funder of choice

Requirements:

- 5 years+ experience in sales or sales management and knowledge of the UK technology finance industry

- Ability to lead and develop others by mentoring and providing meaningful feedback

- Ability to develop and communicate team’s tactics and strategies to achieve set goals and objectives

- Good negotiation skills and ability to influence people

- Strong credit skills to present deals and challenge referrals and declines

- Ability to understand complex financial structures supported by ad hoc documentation
