As Chief Finance Officer, you will be a critical part of the senior leadership team, ensuring the school's financial health and compliance with all statutory requirements. You will provide strategic financial guidance, oversee the school's budget, and lead the finance team to deliver excellent financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the school's financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability
  • Manage the school's budget, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Headteacher and Governors
  • Lead the financial management of capital projects and funding opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and audit requirements
  • Lead the finance team, promoting a culture of efficiency and excellence
  • Monitor cash flow, investments, and the school's financial risk
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial resources support school priorities and improvement plans

Requirements of a CFO:

  • Proven experience in financial leadership, preferably within the education or public sector
  • Strong understanding of school finance systems, budgeting, and financial planning
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
