Chief Financial Officer - High Growth EdTech SaaS - 40% Bonus + Transaction Bonus - Remote

Role Purpose:In this pivotal role, you'll oversee all financial operations, provide strategic guidance, and drive the financial performance of a rapidly growing international EdTech business. You'll will play a crucial role in integrating a recently acquired company, ensuring they achieve cost synergies and build a robust financial infrastructure for future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Planning:

  • Craft and execute their financial strategy, aligning with their ambitious growth plans.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes with precision and strategic insight.
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting to the CEO and senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor financial models to support strategic decisions, including future acquisitions and international expansion.

Financial Operations & Control:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, payroll, and reporting, ensuring compliance with local standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of statutory accounts and tax filings, achieving clean audit reports.
  • Establish strong internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard our assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Oversee their debt portfolio, including term loans, bank covenants, and revolving credit facility management.
  • Maintain a proactive relationship with their investors.
  • Navigate the financial complexities of operating in multiple international markets, managing local regulations, tax implications, and foreign exchange risks.

Merger & Acquisition Integration:

  • Lead the seamless financial integration of their newly acquired business.
  • Implement integrated financial processes, policies, and reporting structures.
  • Achieve anticipated cost synergies and identify additional efficiencies through the integration process.
  • Ensure clear, fast consolidated group reporting.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Define roles, set performance objectives, and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record as a senior finance leader, ideally as a CFO.
  • Extensive experience managing financial operations for businesses with significant international trade.
  • Demonstrated success in integrating acquired businesses.
  • Expertise in international tax compliance.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models and key financial metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience with private equity or Family Office backed businesses is a plus.
