They are seeking an experienced and dynamic CFO to join our team on an interim basis, playing a key role in obtaining their Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence and driving the next phase of their growth.The Role:As the Interim CFO, you will work closely with their Chief Risk and Compliance Officer to lead the preparation and submission of their EMI Licence application. You will also take charge of the strategic financial planning required for the business as they scale. Initially the they expect the role to be 2-3 days per week (with flexibility in working days and hours) but once they are successfully granted the EMI Licence this could lead into a permanent position.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of an EMI Licence application.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Liaise with the FCA, legal teams, and other third parties in relation to the EMI Licence application.
  • Provide strategic insight into future fundraising efforts and capital structure once the licence is granted.
  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and reporting to support the company’s growth strategy.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience leading the end-to-end EMI Licence application process, with recent successful outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulatory requirements for electronic money institutions.
  • Experience working closely with risk and compliance functions in the fintech or payments space.
  • Ability to build and scale finance teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and adaptive approach to working hours, with availability 2-3 days per week.
