Claims Manager - Property Binders

We are currently recruiting for a Claims Manager - Property Binders on behalf of our client, a very highly regarded and well-known brand in the Lloyd's insurance market.

The successful candidate will proactively manage the Property Binders Claims team in all areas, including technical oversight of delegated claims authority holders ("DCAs"), day to day workload, and career progression. You will also have responsibility for managing the Property Binders Claims portfolio, whilst additionally handling your own claims.

A key component of this role is Catastrophe Claims management, and the ability to manage claims surges post catastrophe events. As the Claims Manager, you will need to support the business by providing catastrophe ultimate figures and claims catastrophe plan compliance, as well as recommending catastrophe claims best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving high performance through setting and reviewing your team's goals and objectives - motivating your team members, proactively monitoring their performance, and always ensuring that they have the requisite skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Allocating work, ensuring that all claims notifications are reviewed by suitably experienced, skilled and responsive Claims Adjusters.
  • Ensuring effective technical oversight of delegated claims authority holders ("DCAs"), service providers or outsource partners.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the Property Binders Underwriting and Claims portfolio, and ensuring a close collaborative working partnership with Underwriters.
  • Reviewing the actual versus expected results, and ensuring that there is meaningful claims input into monthly tracking meetings and quarterly reserving meetings.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships (and driving / overseeing your team’s relationships) with key external customers.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of Lloyd’s Claims Lead Arrangements and related claims handling systems.
  • A proven track record of effective management of Delegated Claims and Coverholder & Delegated Claims Authority Holders.
  • Team leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
