The RoleWe are seeking an experienced finance professional with expertise in client money management to oversee day-to-day client money responsibilities. Reporting to the Financial Controller and Head of Compliance, and indirectly to the Head of Retail, this position will also encompass broader finance department duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily client money and custody asset reconciliations for approval, including external reconciliations as required.
  • Oversee and implement client money processes, including maintaining the CASS Resolution Pack and CMAR Returns.
  • Design and conduct quality assurance testing in line with CASS procedures.
  • Provide advice on finance CASS controls to the business.
  • Assist Compliance and the Financial Controller in responding to FCA requests.
  • Prepare monthly CMAR reports and ensure client money and asset procedures align with CASS regulations.
  • Maintain CASS-related documents, including the CASS Resolution Pack, Applicability and Control Matrix, Prudent Segregation Policy, and Framework Policy.
  • Manage the annual CASS audit, including responding to auditor findings.
  • Conduct CASS impact assessments and liaise with regulators on client assets and money matters.
  • Prepare due diligence reports on banks and counterparties.
  • Present complex CASS matters to colleagues in an accessible and understandable manner.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 5+ years of experience within FCA-regulated financial services.
  • Qualified accountant with proven management and financial reporting expertise.
  • Strong understanding of CASS regulations and experience with related audits and assessments.
  • Must have experience in the operation and fundamental requirements of CASS. Hands-on role carrying out administrative daily accounting to ensure segregation of client money (client deposits).
