Our iconic real estate client is seeking a highly competent Commercial Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a portfolio of properties, providing finance perspective and business partnering with asset managers and/or development managers.

The successful candidate will be involved in the management accounts month end and quarterly internal and external reporting, as well as asset and development specific budgeting & forecasting. This role provides significant exposure to key teams across the Asset Management business as well as the Corporate and Group Finance teams.

What you'll do:

As a Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of properties, ensuring their financial performance is optimised. You will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing the accounting performance of your properties, identifying areas for improvement, and making informed decisions on financial issues. Your role will also involve owning the month-end reporting process, preparing detailed forecasts, and providing high-quality finance support to asset managers and development managers. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels will be crucial in this role.

  • Take full ownership of a portfolio of properties from a finance perspective
  • Monitor and review the accounting performance of your properties, pro-actively identifying follow up actions to improve performance
  • Provide high quality decisions on financial issues, whilst knowing when to seek advice
  • Own the month-end reporting process, including collation of analysis from the finance team and presentation of Asset Management perspective to internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare 5 year forecasts on properties and work closely with asset managers to understand lease assumptions and forecast property level inputs
  • Provide high quality finance support to asset managers and development managers, explaining variances to budget and identifying the financial impact and risks of commercial decisions

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Commercial Finance Manager position will bring a wealth of experience in finance management, particularly within an asset management context. You should hold a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and have previous experience in business partnering. A strong understanding of budgeting processes is essential, along with 3-5 years post-qualification experience. Strong Excel skills are required, while experience in property development or property asset management would be beneficial.
