An interesting new opportunity has arisen at an NHS Trust for an interim Deputy Chief Finance Officer to join the organisation and lend support to the CFO and senior management team during a busy time of the year.
Working closely with the team, the post holder will act as the operational lead for the finance function and ensure that the organisation meets all of its statutory requirements with regard to finance. Responsibilities will include close working with the service leads to operate the organisation’s financial framework and management of reporting and control. Furthermore, the post holder will advise the organisation on the effective, efficient and economic use of its resources, on remaining within that allocation and delivering required financial targets and duties. In close co-ordination with the CFO, you will be responsible for compliance with the organisation’s financial, accounting, auditing and information obligations and related duties. You should be a qualified accountant with significant senior level finance experience in other NHS organisations and have a full understanding of the current NHS financial regime.
The ideal candidate is likely to demonstrate able leadership and good team management across finance and governance and will be able to inspire confidence in the organisation’s financial position and financial management. In order to hit the ground running, awareness of the landscape and first rate communication skills will be very important.
This will be a challenging role where the full application of your skills will benefit the organisation and, in return, should make for a rewarding contract.
