We are working with a leading independent bridging finance provider based in the United Kingdom. With a strong presence in the market, they specialise in offering fast and flexible bridging loans and buy-to-let mortgages.

The Deputy Head of Loan Management will be responsible for overseeing the loan origination and portfolio management processes, ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of lending activities. This position requires a deep understanding of lending principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make sound credit decisions.

Role overview:

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
  • Make informed lending decisions, balancing risk and profitability considerations.
  • Oversee the management and administration of the loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor loan performance, review portfolio quality, and develop strategies to minimize credit risk.
  • Implement strategies for loan collections and delinquency management.
  • Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and make recommendations for portfolio adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the loan origination and portfolio management teams.
  • Set performance targets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection processes to build a high-performing team.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with borrowers, ensuring excellent customer service and addressing their financing needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit analysts, legal, and compliance teams, to facilitate efficient loan processing and closing.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in loan origination, credit analysis, and portfolio management, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of lending principles, credit analysis techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex credit situations and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
