Partner Financial are working with a PE ecommerce business to search for a Director of Strategic Planning to join the finance team in London. Our client has an impressive track record and ambitious plans to grow over the coming years.
In this position, you will own, drive, and enhance the company’s long-range planning model, working together with various teams to ensure their financial strategy stays ahead of market trends. You will have a significant voice in shaping plans with key stakeholders such as the CFO and Investment Director, while working at the interface of a private equity backed business, identifying new opportunities for value creation, and being the go-to person for strategic insights. This role offers the chance to work on some of their most high-impact projects, including M&A initiatives and improvements to the capital structure.
The business is at an exciting stage in their business strategy, this role is part of their goal to build a dynamic finance team to work with the business and drive company growth further. The role will support teams from across the business with data driven financial rigour key to achieving business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owning and driving the long-range plan model.
- Acting as the conduit between senior leadership, private equity and the rest of the business, being able to put a narrative to the numbers and use this to drive long-term strategic planning.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular the CFO, Investment Director, the private equity owners and Chief of Staff.
- Being cross-functional in your approach, working with financial colleagues from across the business to support the company’s market model.
- Benchmarking and informing decisions based on the long-range plan model and information from across the market and industry.
- Engaging and supporting colleagues from across the finance department to ensure that investment business cases are represented in the model.
- Supporting M&A projects and changes to capital structure through modelling and insight decisions.
- Being a relationship builder across the business and Group control, working cross-functionally to help support the FP&A and Commercial Finance functions.
- Be a broader part of the Finance Leadership Team, acting as a mentor, providing guidance to team members to help foster a strong culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
The successful candidate will be:
- ACA Qualified accountant with PQE experience.
- Expert in financial modelling and comfortable engaging with and analysing large data sets.
- Strong communication skills. An individual who can put a narrative to numbers and present complex information in a clear, concise way.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and build relationships and rapport with colleagues from across the business.
