Role OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and experienced External Reporting Manager to join a leading energy company's Technical Accounting and External Reporting team. This role is crucial for producing the company's full-year Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and 20F. The successful candidate will prepare and review disclosures, support SOX documentation and control evidence, and assist with month-end reporting and the preparation of statutory accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures for the ARA and 20F.
  • Ensure all disclosures comply with accounting policies and regulatory pronouncements.
  • Operate key SOX controls for these disclosures.
  • Collaborate with auditors and SOX controls teams on deliverables and issues during the reporting process.
  • Utilise the disclosure system Wdesk and the BPC consolidation tool for financial data management.
  • Participate in the month-end Group consolidation and ARA, working with subsidiary teams and the Group Financial Planning and Analysis team.
  • Support the preparation of subsidiary accounts, ensuring up-to-date disclosures.
  • Work on projects such as implementing accounting for disposals in accordance with IFRS 5.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong knowledge in financial reporting or external auditing.
  • Proficiency in IFRS accounting and reporting pronouncements.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with systems like SAP and Wdesk is beneficial.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with a solid understanding of core financial processes.
  • Strong drive for results and ownership of tasks.
