Finance Business Partner | Historic Performing Arts Academy | London/Hybrid

The Business

Our client is a historic organization providing performing arts education to some of the UK's top talent.

The Role:

We are seeking a data-savvy and motivated Finance Business Partner to join a historic UK institution.

In this role, you will work alongside a talented Director of Finance to analyse the financial performance of the business while integrating yourself across departments to support with the commercial aims and strategic goals. Your focus will be primarily centred around analysing financial data, statements, and management accounts, partnering with Heads of Department and members of the executive team to understand the financial health and performance of the institution.

This role is highly analysis-focused with elements of reporting when needed to support the wider finance team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a finance analyst position and be able to confidently communicate complex financial data with senior shareholders across a creative business. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is highly valuable in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Finance and Finance Manager with the creation of annual and 5-year budgets, collating budget information into reports for presentations to the SMT
  • Perform variance analysis on management accounts to investigate discrepancies
  • Compile management information to inform the Board and support strategic decision making
  • Track and inform relevant department heads and the Board of Trustees of potential risks or opportunity relating to strategic and operational finance matters
  • Review income and investigate variances from budget in a monthly basis
  • Advise department heads on the development of business cases, reports, and funding applications
  • Support the Director of Finance and Finance Manager with the completion of the annual report and financial statements
  • Liaise with external auditors and insurance providers on queries pertaining to financial data
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the finance function
