About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transformation Finance Business Partner (FBP) to join our Commercial Finance team working to support the South East London (SEL) Pathology Partnership Transition and Transformation Programme team to achieve its strategic objectives as part of our new 15-year Pathology Partnership worth over £1.8bn.

The Transformation FBP will report to the Senior Commercial FBP for Transformation and work closely alongside the Synnovis Services FBP whilst acting as an intermediary between the Finance team and the wider SEL Transformation Team.

As a project focused role but with a key focus on IT deliverables, the suitable candidate will work with the business across multi-disciplinary team projects, e.g., onboarding of new services, implementing new target operating models etc, and be able to work both autonomously and collaboratively with Finance and Non-Finance project stakeholders.

As a result, the Transformation FBP must be able to efficiently plan and deliver multiple concurrent project-length work packages, demonstrating their ability to prioritise differing demands whilst also servicing other emerging requests.

This role offers significant scope to add value across the business and will suit a team-oriented person who takes full accountability for their workload, alongside having the ability to influence others to achieve project deadlines.

You will be responsible for partnering the project teams in agreeing project budgets, tracking financial progress against those targets, and providing the MI needed to guide management actions towards realisation of the projects’ intended benefits.

Each month you’ll gather financial and operational data from various sources, process journals to capitalise as appropriate and produce the month-end reporting packs which enable you to interpret the performance and produce variance analysis, budgeting, and re-forecasting.

It is a challenging role which will suit someone dynamic who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and who is comfortable with uncertainty and flexibility.

Key Responsibilties

  • Strategic projects - work as the Finance lead and integral project team member for large-scale Transformation projects such as, the onboarding of new customers, the development of our new Hub and spoke model including the construction of a brand-new Hub building and Essential Services Laboratories (ESLs), the rollout of our new single Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) plus many more
  • Support and Challenge - providing and presenting evidence-based financial analysis and management information to senior stakeholders to improve business decision-making. This will include:

o Business Partnering the Transformation & Enterprise Project Management Offices to drive EBITDA improvements

o Managing project financial performance against budget, variance analysis, re-forecasting and benefit realisation reporting

o Cost analysis to identify inefficiencies and act upon the results

o Supporting and making decisions about new hires and investments in new equipment
