This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a consequential organisation as a Finance Business Partner and provide financial advice to enable the maximisation of resources and the successful delivery of value for money services. You will promote financial standards and practices across the directorate to ensure a financially compliant organisation and provision of financial, commercial and strategic support to budget holders, service managers and senior management.

You will be a key financial advisor providing excellent finance business partner support and proactively engage with services to understand strategic direction, priorities and deliverables. You will be able to work confidently with business leads and budget holders by supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, in order to identify any service implications impacting the Medium Term Financial Plan. The successful candidate will also support the compilation of grant claims and other returns.

Maintaining effective working relationships both internally and with external partners, is critical to the role. You will be expected to provide financial input into contract specifications and provide financial analysis/evaluation both in relation to the commissioning of contracts and the development of business case proposals. You will understand key cost drivers and be able to provide and financial insight and analysis to support evidence based decision making, underpinned by value for money and service improvement principles.

To be successful in this role you will be a CCAB qualified accountant ideally with either public sector ohowever, candidates from outside the sector will be considered.

It is essential that you have excellent communication and analytical skills with a proven track record of Management Accounting and Business Partnering with the ability to challenge and influence. You will need to be resilient with strong problem solving abilities.
