NEW Finance Business Partner role available at one of our International Law Firm Clients!

Reporting into the Director of Finance & Operations, this will be a practice group specific role supporting them in the UK and Internationally. The role would suit someone who is hungry and driven, and thrives in a business facing role.

As the Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Support the Practice Group DFO in the preparation and analysis required for monthly activities, ensuring that all practice group reporting deadlines are met.
  • Monthly review of the practice group trading statements, investigating any variances, and following up with Financial Control and any other relevant stakeholders to ensure that queries are swiftly resolved.
  • Monthly review of recruitment costs and related accruals to ensure all costs are correctly captured.
  • Development and enhancement of monthly headcount and related KPI reporting across the teams
  • Work closely with HR and the DFO to review any recruitment and flexible resource requests across the teams.
  • Work closely with Flexible Resourcing team and Vario Finance team to understand financials related to flexible resource working within the practice group
  • Support HR and the DFO with the annual salary review cycle, providing any required analysis and schedules in accordance with the centralised timetables
  • Work closely with the Resource Manager to enhance resource management and reporting across the teams
  • Provision of financial analysis to fee earners across the practice groups, answering queries and providing commercial insight and commentary where relevant.
  • Support the DFO and Sector Heads with any sector specific analysis and queries.
  • Ad hoc analysis and presentations as required by the DFO, Group Head, Sector Heads or Team Leaders
  • Liaison with HR to obtain all relevant information on staff changes to ensure that these are captured for budgeting purposes.
  • Work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to resolve any issues and ensure that data loads are reconciled and agreed by the deadline
  • Monthly review of fee earner targets to ensure that the systems data is correct and accurate. Work closely with the Financial Systems and HR Analytics teams to ensure that all records are updated in a timely fashion and all queries are resolved. Support the DFO with the provision of any analysis and presentations required for the annual Business Plan.

To be successful in your application you will need to have:

  • An ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Proven experience in a finance business partnering role already
  • Experience working in a law firm or wider professional services environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Additionally, this person must want to take on a proactive role and really put themselves out here in the business.

This role can be based in either London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester or Scotland however the preference is London as that is where the DFO is based.
