Kenneth Brian Associates are partnering with a national charity who are looking to hire a Senior Finance Business Partner within their Accounting function which can be based remotely.

Reporting into the Head of Finance based in Manchester, the successful applicant will take responsibility for service charge accounting and business partnering services, monitoring and explaining leasehold scheme budgets and acting as a key liaison between tenants, budget holders and back office function.

  • Working closely with the Director of Housing to manage timely, accurate financial reports on property repairs, compliance, and capital investments.
  • Manage and develop the Housing Division financial processes and systems so that they are robust, efficient and properly aligned to United Response’s wider processes.
  • Act as the finance representative towards the integration of the Housing Management system with the Finance system and other related systems to improve the quality of data across the business
  • Deliver high quality professional advice on the financial implications of service proposals and draft financial comments on Committee Reports to inform decision making.
  • Provide regular reports and other analysis to the Housing Scrutiny Group.
  • Building robust business cases, partnering with the Housing Team, and modelling opportunities across our Housing portfolio around expansion strategies
  • Preparation of meaningful and agreed, scenario-based budget proposals and regular forecasting across all Housing activities. Lead responsibility in the preparation of annual budgets for housing, offices and other property income and costs
  • Provide in-depth analysis to highlight trends and spot areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.
  • Act as a bridge connecting the Housing and Finance teams, particularly to ensure the analysis and collection of rents & service charges and effective management and forecasting of expenditure.
  • Ensure risks and opportunities to performance and budget/latest forecasts are well understood and raised in a timely manner with identification of interventions and risks are accompanied by robust recommendations to get back to target.
  • Ensuring that accounting for housing activity is compliant with regulation and in line with good practice. Liaise with the financial accounting team to ensure effective balance sheet management of issues including capitalisation, depreciation, sinking funds and lease commitments.
  • Completion of month end and year end processes in line with set timetables
  • Work closely with the and the central management accounts team to ensure that housing and property accounts can be reported on both separately and within the wider organisational finances.
