Page Executive are partnering with an international Leisure & Travel Business to lead their search for a new Finance Director to oversee all areas of financial reporting and control.

Our client is a long-established, international Leisure & Travel group, providing services across Europe.

Description

This is a senior leadership role within the finance team and the successful candidate will oversee all areas of financial reporting and control within a key business area of an international group. The team is relied on to play a lead role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining robust financial controls across the business. As such, the Finance Director will work closely with the CFO and business leadership team to build and develop a 'best in class' finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Coordinate the consolidation of group financial statements, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
    • Financial Control:
    • Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to ensure accurate reporting at a subsidiary and group level.
    • Play a lead role in the implementation and monitoring of relevant financial policies and procedures.
    • Work closely with the CFO to conduct regular reviews of financial processes and systems to identify and mitigate risks.

Audit and Compliance:

    • Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
    • Oversee internal audit activities and ensure findings are addressed promptly.

Strategic Planning:

    • Support the development and implementation of the group's medium/long-term strategic plans.
    • Provide financial insights and analysis to support business growth and expansion initiatives.
    • Participate in strategic projects and initiatives, providing financial expertise and guidance.

Team Leadership:

    • Play a lead role in building and developing a high-performing finance team
    • Leading by example to create a culture of continuous improvement, professional development and business partnering.
    • Provide regular mentoring and support to team members, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
    • Promote a collaborative and inclusive working environment.

Profile

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a financial reporting/control role.
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and control within an international group.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to manage complex financial processes and systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with large accounting packages and financial reporting systems.
  • Experience in managing third-party & external audit relationships.

Job Offer
