Our client is a well-respected and high growth specialist law firm with offices based across London and the South of the UK with expansion plans ahead.

As a result of the companies continued success, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a HOFA (Head of Finance & Administration) to join the Firm.

This is a key member of the executive team and will partner with the CEO of the firm providing expert assistance and financial management for the firm alongside having a commercial and strategic input in the firms ongoing expansion plans.

Overview

The HOFA is responsible for all financial aspects of the company including managing the company’s finances, protecting client money, managing the accounting team, advising the directors and helping to direct the future of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Risk: - Identifying, assessing & mitigating financial risk to the business
  • Strategy: - Advising the Board, providing & analysing information, participating in key decisions, business case preparation & business case review
  • Financial reporting: - Management & Statutory accounts, KPI’s, ad hoc and specific project reports, presentation to the Board & data analysis to assist with decision making
  • Management: - Of the accounts team (inc. recruitment & training) & computer software implementation
  • Financial control: - Budgeting & forecasting, Cash flow management, purchasing control, credit control & financing
  • Compliance: - COFA, Solicitors Accounts rules, dealing with Auditors, Bankers, VAT & insurance

The ideal candidate will be formally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) and have the benefit of having previous law firm experience ideally gained as the No 1 / No 2 in Finance.Those with suitable experience gained operating in such a position (Finance Director / Head of Finance / Financial Controller) that are QBE or Part Qualified will be considered.Alongside the financial management for the firm, this role retains a strong operational focus working alongside the CEO to drive efficiency, improvement and growth and challenge fee earners on WIPCandidate will need to have strong IT and analytical as will play a key role in evolving the companies MI / KPI’s / Dashboards to monitor performance
