Finance Director

Your new companyA family-owned property rental business in London directly owns, rents, and manages a variety of properties, from studios to penthouses. They focus on building long-term relationships with tenants, offering 24/7 maintenance and leveraging their local market knowledge to provide a seamless rental experience. Their commitment to transparency and community connection ensures tenants feel at home and supported. Your new roleThis will be the number one in finance reporting to the owner of the company. You will need to be ready to roll your sleeves up and get directly involved in the transactional side of the finances to ensure the plans for the company are financially reliable.Key responsibilities:

• Review TBs prepared by bookkeepers on Sage, then prepare financial accounts for presentation.
• Ensure intercompany balances reconcile at year-end.
• Oversee year-end bank reconciliations by bookkeepers.
• Liaise with a VAT accountant to ensure year-end VAT balances are reasonable.
• Prepare tax computations, passing complex ones to an outsourced accounting team, and review accounts and tax computations by external accountants.
• Track group tax losses for optimal utilisation.
• Prepare occasional reports for the CEO, including short-term cash forecasts and other business and personal matters.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in property development or investment
• SME exposure
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification with good experience in financial accounting and financial controls
• A good working knowledge of tax for property companies
• Eager to roll your sleeves up and get involved in statutory reporting
