Finance Manager, Family Office

£55,000-£60,000 plus bonus

North London, office based

We are partnered exclusively with an HNW family office looking to hire an experienced Accountant/ Finance Manager to manage a portfolio of properties across the UK, Europe and the US.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations of entities and projects, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, invoices, and receipts, reconciling bank accounts, preparing financial reports, maintaining financial records, and complying with financial regulations. They will also lead the preparation of consolidated financial reports for the group, including cash flow statements as well as analyse the profitability of the group's companies and identify opportunities to reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:
    • Process invoices and payments for multiple clients and projects.
    • Verify and code invoices for payment.
    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable on a regular basis.
    • Follow up on outstanding invoices and payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile bank accounts daily, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
    • Prepare bank reconciliation reports.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports as needed.
    • Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Consolidated Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare consolidated financial reports for the group, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Analyse consolidated financial data to identify trends and patterns.
    • Prepare additional reports as requested by management.
  • Profitability Analysis:
    • Analyse the profitability of individual companies within the group.
    • Identify areas of high and low profitability.
    • Provide recommendations for improving profitability.
  • Cost Reduction:
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs across the group.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.
    • Monitor cost savings and measure their impact.
  • Internal Reporting:
    • Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including budget vs. actual reports, departmental spending reports, and key performance indicators.
    • Analyse financial data to identify trends and variances from budget.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on internal reports.

Key skills required:

  • Relevant degree and Accounting Qualification (ACCA/ CIMA) or QBE
  • Prior experience in accounting preferably in property (and/or fashion industry)
  • Experience working with family office/ HNWI is essential
  • Experience using Xero is advantageous
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and excellent prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team especially family office work environment
