Allen Lane are delighted to be supporting a client who are looking for a Bookkeeper / Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

About the Business

This sales consultancy work with customers in both the public and private sectors and have achieved ongoing growth and success since their inception. Due to a period of rapid growth they are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join the group in a sole role.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Operations, this is a sole in-house finance role working alongside an external accounting function, where you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Collecting payment of outstanding invoices and liaising with clients to understand any potential issues
  • Reporting on aged debt and assess potential payment delays
  • Update PO’s and re-issue invoices where necessary
  • Ensure ledgers are correct and identify/resolve errors
  • Accurately record costs into accounting system (Xero), making sure month end deadlines are met
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliation’s
  • Complete board level and ad-hoc reports for directors
  • First point of contact for any queries relating to finance

The Candidate

We are looking for candidates experienced of working in a similar role within a sales business with a focus on public sector clients. You will be qualified by experience or studying towards an accountancy qualification (AAT / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA or equivalent), as well as have Excel skills at an intermediate level (pivots / lookups).

You will have experience of working under pressure, able to demonstrate excellent communications skills and have a proven track record of effective decision making with excellent attention to detail.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, 3 days per week based in the Central London office with 2 days from home.
