The Finance Manager will take ownership of all daily financial activities and oversee the growing finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will be crucial in driving financial performance, implementing internal controls, and developing processes that will support continued expansion. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for operational efficiency, and experience in fast-paced environments.

Our Client is a fast-growing, innovative healthy food/snack startup with products on the shelves of major retailers across the UK and internationally. After experiencing rapid growth over the past several years, they are focused on building a robust foundation to ensure sustainable scaling.

Description

  • Oversee all day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow management, and payroll.
  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and the Head of Finance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small but growing finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to drive team productivity.
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Identify gaps in current financial processes and establish more effective and scalable procedures.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to develop strategies that improve financial efficiencies and support sustainable growth.
  • Provide actionable financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and trends, ensuring the business stays on track to meet growth targets.
  • Lead the implementation of financial systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant legal requirements.
  • Oversee audits and manage relationships with external auditors and financial partners.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, proposing mitigation strategies where necessary.

Profile

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong hands on experience in a finance role, ideally within a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations and leading a finance team.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls and financial processes.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Expert Excel skills required; SAP experience a plus
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work under pressure, and thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
