Description
- Oversee all day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow management, and payroll.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and the Head of Finance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small but growing finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to drive team productivity.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Identify gaps in current financial processes and establish more effective and scalable procedures.
- Work closely with the Head of Finance to develop strategies that improve financial efficiencies and support sustainable growth.
- Provide actionable financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership.
- Monitor key financial metrics and trends, ensuring the business stays on track to meet growth targets.
- Lead the implementation of financial systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with UK and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant legal requirements.
- Oversee audits and manage relationships with external auditors and financial partners.
- Identify and manage financial risks, proposing mitigation strategies where necessary.
Profile
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong hands on experience in a finance role, ideally within a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of managing financial operations and leading a finance team.
- Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls and financial processes.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Expert Excel skills required; SAP experience a plus
- Ability to adapt quickly, work under pressure, and thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
